An Introduction to Public Policy

Wednesday, February 20, 2019
7-8 p.m. EST

Sponsored by the Indiana Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics’ Public Policy Panel

Have you ever found yourself asking these questions?

  • How do I, an average person, make a difference in public policy?
  • What on earth is an NPI number and why do I need one?
  • What exactly is the difference between dietitian certification and licensure?

If the answer is yes, please join us for a FREE public policy webinar on Wednesday, February 20, from 7-8 p.m. EST. The webinar will be recorded for registrants unable to participate in the live webinar.

This one hour webinar will serve as an overview of public policy as it affects Indiana registered dietitian nutritionists (RDN) and nutrition and dietetics technicians, registered (NDTR). Presented by the Indiana Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Public Policy Panel, this webinar will provide a brief overview of the legislative process, National Provider Identifier (NPI), dietitian certification versus licensure, and cases of harm. After this webinar, participants will be able to explain how grassroots advocacy affects the legislative process, why obtaining an NPI is an important professional step for the RDN, and the current state of dietitian certification and licensure in Indiana. This session has been approved for 1 CPEU.

Pre-registration is required to attend or listen to this webinar.
